Heavy and construction machinery transport in Barcelona

Excavators, loaders, dumpers and cranes between site, port, quarry and dealer. The machine moves on its own; the moment it touches a public road it becomes cargo —and almost always, by width, special transport. We resolve it end to end.

Heavy machinery transport in Barcelona has been our daily work since 1963: excavators, loaders, cranes, lathes and industrial equipment on lowboy or step-frame trailers, from the Port of Barcelona or the manufacturer to your site or plant. Permits, pilot and last mile, with a single point of contact.

What we move

Excavators and loaders

They climb onto the lowboy under their own power via ramps. Width, not weight, sets the regime of the journey.

Dumpers and earthmoving

Between workfaces, quarries and public works. Repeated trips with the site schedule as the clock.

Cranes and elevating platforms

The height of the combination and the overhangs are the critical variable here: bridge and tunnel clearances studied in advance.

Milling machines, compactors and auxiliaries

Paving and compaction equipment that follows each phase of the works, with coordinated windows.

How we work

01

Analysis of the machine

Track width, height, overhangs, loading points and axle distribution. The machine itself, not the catalogue sheet.

02

Platform and permit

Drop-deck lowboy or low bed according to the resulting clearance; authorisation under the SCT regime and a study of itinerary and site access.

03

Pilot and escort

Pilot vehicle from the width thresholds and, where appropriate, accompaniment by the Mossos d’Esquadra.

04

Loading and delivery on site

Ramps if the machine rolls, lifting equipment if it doesn’t; chain lashing and delivery synchronised with the site schedule.

The platform depends on the machine

Not every machine travels the same way. The lowboy handles most excavators and loaders; the step-frame gains free height for bulky equipment; the extendable platform covers greater lengths. For heavy haul that exceeds the step-frame, we coordinate the appropriate modular configuration. The choice comes from the prior analysis —weight, dimensions and centre of gravity— and shapes the route, permits and the need for a pilot or escort.

Frequently asked questions

Does an excavator need special transport?
As soon as the combination exceeds 2.55 m in width it enters the special regime, and most medium machines exceed it. From 3 m a pilot vehicle is added.
How much does it cost to transport a construction machine?
It depends on the dimensions, the itinerary and whether a pilot or escort is needed. We give an indicative quote within 24 working hours.
Who arranges the permits?
We arrange them: SCT in Catalonia and ACC for the rest of Spain, with the itinerary and site access studied in advance.
How does the machine get onto the platform?
If it rolls, under its own power via ramps; if not, with lifting equipment. In all cases lashing is done with chains and the axle distribution is calculated in advance.
Do you transport machinery that can't travel by road?
Yes. Construction machinery and industrial equipment that doesn't roll travels on a lowboy or step-frame trailer, with load analysis, permits and, when required, an escort.
Up to what weight or size?
From a mid-size excavator to heavy-haul pieces; depending on the piece, lowboy, extendable or, for heavy haul, the modular configuration we coordinate. Indicative quote within 24 business hours.

Do you have a machine to move?

Tell us the machine type, the weight, the dimensions and the origin-destination. Within 24 working hours you receive a working proposal with the recommended platform, timelines and an indicative quote.
